Neustreet — Marketplace and Analytics Platform Overview

The Challenge

The collectibles market — spanning limited-edition sneakers, graded trading cards, and digital assets — has exploded in both scale and sophistication. Buyers and sellers no longer just want a place to transact; they want real-time market intelligence, price history, exchange comparisons, and portfolio tracking. The problem is that the existing platforms either serve the data-savvy investor with tools that are overwhelming and ugly, or they serve the culture-first collector with beautiful interfaces that are analytically shallow.

Neustreet needed to do both at once. The brief called for a web app and native mobile app that could surface deep, exchange-wise market data — dynamic charts, price-tracking tools, trend breakdowns — while still feeling exciting and accessible to someone who cares about the culture as much as the numbers. Eight weeks to design both platforms from scratch, without sacrificing either depth or delight.

Our Approach

We approached the design challenge by studying how financial platforms communicate complexity — and then systematically humanised those patterns for the collectibles context. The foundation was a bold, high-contrast visual system that signals premium intent: dark backgrounds with punchy accent colors, sharp typographic hierarchy, and imagery that gives cultural objects the same reverence a financial terminal gives market data.

For the data layer, we adapted stock market conventions — candlestick-style price charts, exchange-wise comparison tables, volume indicators — and redesigned them to be legible at a glance rather than expert-only. Filter systems and search were designed to be progressive: casual users could explore by category and trend, while serious investors could dive into granular exchange breakdowns and historical pricing. The mobile app prioritised quick market checks and portfolio snapshots; the web app gave power users the full analytical toolkit. Both shared the same design language, so switching between them felt seamless.

The Result

After eight weeks, Neustreet had a complete, production-ready design system spanning web and native mobile — including all core marketplace flows, analytics dashboards, asset detail pages, and onboarding. The interface strikes the balance the brief demanded: it can compete visually with consumer apps built for culture, while surfacing the kind of market intelligence that serious collectors need to make confident buying and selling decisions.

The design system was handed off with full component documentation, so the engineering team could build from a single source of truth. Every screen was designed at production fidelity, with interaction states, empty states, and responsive breakpoints defined — so there were no ambiguous decisions left for development to interpret.
